GPS company navigates way to business success

Investing in technology to compete with the world’s best has helped a North Shore company secure a major award.

North Shore company Navman Wireless New Zealand won the Eco Insulation Excellence in Design, Research and Development Award at the 2009 Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards.

Navman Wireless designs and manufactures GPS-based vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions for the global transport, utility and service industries. Its products comprise GPS engines, sensor modules, tracking devices and messaging terminals, which are used in thousands of companies worldwide. With operations in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Ireland, the United States, Chile, New Zealand and Australia, the company is recognised internationally as an innovator and leading player in the industry.

The innovative GPS company impressed judges with their disciplined approach to research and development (R&D) in particular its high performance system that collects, collates and screens opportunities.
