Enterprise North Shore has developed the Starting Off Right programme for people considering how to go about starting a new business. It's important to start off right.
Many new businesses struggle due to a variety of challenges that could have been avoided or handled better. If additional time is taken - by following the Starting off Right programme - in upskilling, planning and preparing for the hurdles that will almost certainly come your way success is more likely.
The Starting off Right programme has three parts which you can undertake in any order:

1. Excellerator Starting off Right
We recommend you complete an Excellerator Starting off Right online assessment which will evaluate the following:

Whether starting a small business is appropriate for you

Your business idea, your business model and your level of preparedness
You will receive a report via email detailing the results of this evaluation.
2. Starting off Right seminar
Starting Off Right is a seminar designed by Enterprise North Shore to help empower, inform and help networking for start-up businesses. All start-up businesses are invited to attend a Starting Off Right seminar, hosted by Enterprise North Shore at North Harbour Stadium at no charge if they are on the North Shore. Starting Off Right is designed to provide information - via handouts, presentations from guests and questions and answer sessions - the many concerns business owners have when considering starting a business. The half day seminar also provides an opportunity to network with others who have similar queries and challenges.
If you reside outside North Shore City (defined as the area paying rates to North Shore City Council) there is a $50 charge for the Starting off Right seminar. Click here to purchase your seat. If you live in North Shore City, the seminar is free of charge.
Registration is essential to participate in a Starting Off Right as numbers are limited, so it pays to register your attendance early.
