Project Objectives

1: Improve linkages between jobseekers, education and training providers, and employers in the North Shore City – thereby helping to create a more efficient local labour market

2: Increase the percentage of young people who are raised in North Shore City choosing to live and work on the North Shore rather than leaving to work in other locations

3: Understand the current and future employment and skills need of North Shore employers and be able to act on those needs

4: Connect local unskilled youth to training and employment opportunities in the North Shore labour market – thereby reducing their disadvantage in the labour market

E_learning      Key Implementation Strategies:       E_learning

1: Work with jobseekers, school leavers and disadvantaged groups to assist in engaging in training and/or employment, thereby retaining their skills with North Shore City

2: Work with businesses to identify current and future skill needs, and promote their employment opportunities

3: Work with secondary and tertiary training organisations that provide skilled workers – including women returning to the workforce and migrants – to provide employers with the skilled workers they require

4: Work with local and regional skills and employment projects, trainers and training organisations to encourage the development of skills appropriate to the local labour market
