Skills and Employment Research Approaches

The Economic Futures Model (EFM) research commissioned by Enterprise North Shore intends to provide vital information to businesses, community and education alike. NSSEP will work in tandom with this research, in a cross-collaborative manner to ensure that 'skills and employment' receive maximum input and and gain from the initiative.  

A 'Business Intelligence Survey' will be circulated to many thousands of businesses on the Shore, in an effort to gauge the present, and future business climate. The company contracted to design the survey is Takapuna's own Market Economics. The three key tertiary institutions on the Shore will 'inform' the research via their respective Research Offices. These include:

Benefits / Outcomes

 1. The North Shore Education Community will have 'business informed' research that can be used as a 'predictor' or 'modeller' in order to more accurately predict future enrollment strategies, plan for educational provision, and better adjust to 'real' needs.

2. Businesses will have more well-equipped/skilled jobseekers, to better meet their requirements

3. Jobseekers will receive more 'targeted' training and education provision, allowing easier acces into, and across, the workplace.

4. The North Shore region will have a more efficient and effective local labour force.
