Auckland People Visit North Shore

AUCKLAND BUSINESS PEOPLE VISIT NORTH SHORE FOR A TASTE OF WHAT’S ON OFFER

June 23, 2008

Watch out Auckland! That’s the message from Enterprise North Shore, which this week hosted 90 high-profile organisations and businesspeople wanting to take a closer look at what North Shore City has to offer them.

“We are very definitely in the market of getting high-profile large organisations to understand what wonderful facilities we can offer on the North Shore,” Enterprise North Shore chief executive Terry Hoskins confirms.

“We make no apologies for that. North Shore is the location for 21st Century business – a place to live, work, play and invest in. And we want everyone to know it, and benefit from it.

“The North Shore is closer than many people think, and we have prime locations opening up constantly that can fit the requirements of any enterprise interested in relocating in our city.”

The event this week particularly showcased developments at Smales Farm and Albany City, using the city’s near-new Rapid Bus Transit system in luxury coaches, and gave an opportunity to view sites and meet with key members, owners and developers achieving success from a North Shore base.

As well as an address from North Shore Mayor Andrew Williams, the group heard from Colliers International and Enterprise North Shore’s Investment Manager Ian Robertshaw.

“Not only did the attendees – which included representatives from Manukau City as well as Auckland City – see what the future holds for our city, but they also experienced the new busway,” Mr Hoskins says.

“That facility alone illustrates the progress which has been made on the North Shore in the past few years.”

As well as a tour of construction at Albany, the group took time for a networking event at Smales Farm. Mr Hoskins says the group was impressed with the quality of locations available, the highly educated workforce the city boasts, investment in infrastructure and new commercial developments such as Green Star rated buildings.

“North Shore is also stable – it has a strong local economy and excellent educational resources at all levels,” Mr Hoskins says. “Enterprise North Shore’s focus is on attraction, retention and growth of businesses, so events such as this one are very important to us.”

The event was co-hosted by CoreNet Global New Zealand Chapter, Colliers International, Smales Farm and Albany City Developments.
