Mentors were certainly in the mood for motoring last night at the Enterprise North Shore Mentor Appreciation Evening held at North Harbour Stadium. Bartercard supplied a Formula One Race Simulator for the evening, at which Enterprise North Shore sought to acknowledge and recognise the commitment of over 300 North Shore and Rodney business mentors.

Enterprise North Shore facilitates the Business Mentor programme for the North Shore. Chief Executive Terry Hoskins says “mentors have been in hot demand this year; they have strived to instil optimism in their clients while helping them navigate the obstacles of the current economic environment.”

Mentors are passionate and motivated individuals who volunteer their time altruistically to help business owners. While they have no ‘magic wand fix’, ENS’s North Shore Mentors cover a broad range of business skills and experiences such that, whatever the business challenge or opportunity, an experienced mentor will more than likely be available to lend assistance.

Lisa Ford, Enterprise North Shore’s Mentor Coordinator, says business mentors are “integral to the economy of North Shore City” commenting that “the significance of each Business Mentors’ contribution to both North Shore businesses and the greater local economy is not to be underestimated”.

Business people who have expertise and a willingness to offer their skills can join in the fun and contribute to the local economy by contacting Lisa Ford at Enterprise North Shore.
