If the competition at the Coconut Shy during last evening’s Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards Entrants Celebration is any indication of the level of competition, then this years Awards is set to be the hottest contest yet.
The Entrants Celebration, in keeping with expectations set by the Business Awards Launch in April, was a tropical triumph – Sponsors and Entrants were wreathed in Hawaiian lei’s for the evening; Entrants were pitched against one another at the Coconut Shy and the more limber participants did the limbo.
The annual Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards – now in their 12th year – celebrate business excellence on the North Shore. “You just need to articulate how excellent your business is within your Awards Entry, and you’re a prime candidate as a finalist or category winner” explains Terry Hoskins, CEO of Enterprise North Shore. “Enterprise North Shore has resources available to help with your entry – including tips and hints for overcoming writers block” he says.
Entrants have a choice of 12 categories to enter, and every entry is eligible to win this years Committed Optimist Award sponsored by Speak First, which recognises an upbeat, impassioned and thriving business who acts as an exemplar for other enterprises and business-people.
Robert Hill, Westpac’s North and Western Area Manager, is delighted to see the high levels of competition evident amongst Entrants at the Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards Entrant Celebration last evening. “As the proverb goes, competition is the whetstone of talent. The competition this year would suggest the North Shore harbours a great deal of local talent”.
