Awards Launch an Enterprising Spectacular!
|
What do you get when you combine over 300 committed optimists, a juggling act and smiling sponsors in bowler hats in one room despite prevailing economic uncertainty? An enterprising spectacular otherwise known as the 2009 Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards Launch.
The Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards Launch held at North Harbour Stadium last night explored the juggling act of life for business-people balancing health, wealth and relationships and how an Awards Entry complements all three. Rosette-adorned judges and sponsors obligingly sporting hats and necklaces with dollar signs, as well as past entrants and winners undertook to explain the rewards of entering – even without winning - the Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards.
The annual Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards – now in their 12th year – are designed to celebrate business excellence on the North Shore. “No matter how diverse or niche your business, so long as you’re based on the North Shore and your business is performing well, you’re a prime candidate as a finalist or category winner” says Terry Hoskins, Chief Executive of Enterprise North Shore. Entrants have a choice of 12 categories to enter, including excellence in innovation, excellence in not-for-profit, excellence in technology and more.
This year an additional Committed Optimist Award, sponsored by newest sponsor Speak First, recognises an upbeat, impassioned and thriving business who acts as an exemplar for other enterprises and business-people.
Greg Byrne, Westpac Regional Manager for business banking is delighted to see the high levels of business acumen and optimism on the North Shore during these challenging economic conditions. “It’s an indication of resilience and confidence, and speaks volumes for the strength of North Shore enterprises” he says.
“It’s extremely pleasing to note the number of businesses utilizing the Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards as an opportunity for self-appraisal” says Terry Hoskins, “as businesses can reassess their strategy and present themselves as a thriving enterprise. This does wonders not only for the confidence of customers, but for staff who reap the benefits of celebration too”.
The Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards launch will be followed by the Entrants Celebration at North Harbour Stadium on April 30. Click here for details about this and other 2009 Awards events.
