AWARDS FINALISTS COVER SPECTRUM OF NORTH SHORE BUSINESSFinalists for this year’s Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards have been announced today, offering one of the best line-ups in years and promising a tussle for the titles on offer. A total of 43 finalists are up for the awards’ 12 categories, including two schools, a real estate agency, television production company, retailers, a training trust and courier company. Several have been shortlisted for more than one category, promising even further all-round success. Enterprise North Shore chief executive Terry Hoskins says the strong line-up this year – assisted by a record number of 115 entries – offers one of the best contests in the awards’ 11-year history and is shaping up to be a nail-biter in the next month until the winners are announced.
“To have such a wide range of different businesses nominated for these awards means our aims are being met – to find the ‘best of the best’ of North Shore business excellence, and to celebrate those winners with the residents of our city.” A 14-strong panel of judges, led by Albany Accountant Matthew Bellingham, has spent the past four weeks evaluating the entrants. The category winners will be announced at a gala dinner on August 28 at North Harbour Stadium, along with the Westpac overall winner and the Hall of Fame laureate. “We encourage North Shore residents to experience for themselves the excellence already attained by the finalists in this competition,” Mr Hoskins says. “These businesses, by being named finalists, have shown they are a cut above the rest already.” Entries flooded into Enterprise North Shore this year, spurred on by an easier-to-follow online entry process and assistance from The Results Group.
