Judges cited North Shore International Academy’s (NSIA) ability to continually attract international students during a downturn in the tourism industry as a major factor in their decision along with steady business and financial growth, and diverse training programmes.

NSIA is a leading training provider of hospitality education for both international and domestic students and in 2004, they became the first private training institute in North Shore City to offer professional courses in cookery and hospitality management.

Head of Academy Otto Groen QSM says, “We have an enviable reputation in New Zealand and internationally, attracting over 800 students who have decided to study in New Zealand. NSIA continues to play a vital role not only in the worldwide hospitality industry, but also for the New Zealand education export industry.”

Enterprise North Shore chief executive Terry Hoskins is delighted by the positive impact NSIA is making on the North Shore. “NSIA is an essential part of the New Zealand hospitality scene and it is encouraging to see their world-class programmes and training facilities attracting international and domestic students to our city and thereby growing the local economy.”
