Our Mentor Programme is operated in conjunction with the Business Mentors NZ national agency.  The intention of the programme is to provide businesses in need with a skilled volunteer business mentor carefully matched to their business. 

Enterprise North Shore recruits North Shore-based mentors as personal business coaches to work with small businesses on a voluntary basis.   Invariably, our mentors have been successful in business and have the necessary skills, experience and professional disciplines to assist businesses solve their problems.

The mentoring relationship is completely confidential between the mentor and the business owner.  It is important to note that mentors assist a business owner make decisions, not undertake work for that person.  Rather, the business owner is encouraged to learn from the mentor's advice and apply this to her/his business.   

The programme provides people with confidence in their ability to plan and manage a venture, meet new challenges, and learn how to develop the skills necessary for achieving results.  In recognition of Export Year 2007, Enterprise North Shore has also worked closely with Business Mentors NZ to develop a pool of mentors with significant exporting experience. 

Enterprise North Shore manages its mentoring programme via Business Mentors NZ.  All mentor requests must be directed to Business Mentors NZ in the first instance. 


Many mentors join the scheme after enjoying successful careers with the view to contribute their skills and experience to the development of other businesses.  Currently, Enterprise North Shore is grateful to be able to work with 225 volunteer business mentors that are assisting growing North Shore business. 

We are always looking for more mentors to join the team.  Those that participate as a Business Mentor find assisting local businesses a particularly rewarding experience.  Enterprise North Shore is enternally grateful for their expert and skilled assistance.
