The Speak First Committed Optimist Award is a special Award which recognises an enterprise whose Committed Optimism shines through their entry.
Purpose: To recognize a business who utilizes the reinforcement of positive messages of change to keep afloat during rapidly changing economic conditions. An upbeat, impassioned and thriving business who acts as exemplars for other community members and enterprises, thus contributing to the greater wellbeing of our City will be the recipient of this Award.
Eligibility: All entries are eligible for the Speak First Committed Optimist Award, regardless of whether they are selected as Finalists. The entry will be selected from the Category Criteria and Business Profile - there is no requirement to fill in anything extra for this Award.
Criteria: Being a Committed Optimist will involve a number of things; the winner of the 2009 Committed Optimist Award will demonstrate any or all of the following in their entry:
- Positive long-term trends in their business
- Capitalisation on opportunities presented by rapidly changing economic conditions
- Optimised operations to thrive
- Ways they have kept spirits up during 2009 – theirs and others!
